Rush Hour 2 Added to Netflix Instant Streaming

So Netflix just added Rush Hour 2 to the list of instant streaming titles.  Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are back.  These two worked well together in Rush Hour and nothing has changed with their chemistry in the sequel.  The result is a good action/comedy movie set in Hong Kong.

New Wii Netflix Instant Streaming

So Netflix streaming movies are coming to the Wii.  I recently had a Roku die an early death so this is a welcome addition to the Wii.  The disk should be here tomorrow.  It will be interesting to see how the Netflix instant watching will differ in quality and navigation compared to the Roku.    I will also be trying to get Pandora Internet Radio working on the Wii.   This is a sorely missed feature of the Roku.

BBQ Smoker: The Weber Smokey Mountain

We have been eating a lot more at home lately.  It is healthier and we get better food for our money.  I typically do most of the cooking.  The ultimate in man cooking is of course the BBQ.  Currently I've been using the gas grill which offers pretty immediate gratification.  Lately I've been considering a smoker for the low and slow BBQ.  I've been considering both the 18.5" and 22.5" Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker's.  The research I've done so far seems like this will be a good option.  I did consider less expensive models but it looks like all the fiddling that is required and poor results would create a lot of frustration.  It also seems that the investment isn't that large when you consider what you might spend on meat.

La Fonda Trip in Baja Mexico

We took a trip down to La Fonda down in Baja California.  We had a blast.  The hotel was rustic but we love it.  Every room has a wood burning fire place.  The rooms were large with a fantastic view of the ocean.  The rooms are literally perched on the side of the bluff.  The food was also great at the restaurant.  As you can see the banana daiquiri is not to be missed.  Here is a link to the hotel.  You will need to pick up some Mexican Car Insurance before your trip across the border.

The Remodel: Replacement Windows

We took on a major remodel project.  Here I am removing our thirty year old aluminum windows.  They were replaced with Jeld-Wen Windows from the Home Depot.  They were fairly easy to get out.  You just lifted out the sliding part of the window.  You then removed the middle frame support.  The other window pane is slid to the other side and removed.  The Jeld-Wen vinyl replacement windows just fit in the frame of the old window.  You screw in a couple of screws on each side and caulk around the outside with 100% GE Clear Silicone Caulk.

A Visit to the World Famous San Diego Zoo New Elephant Exhibit

We have annual passes to the World Famous San Diego Zoo.  They are very affordable if you live in San Diego and visit the zoo frequently.  The Zoo just opened a new elephant exhibit.  This is a great sculpture that looks like four different elephants depending on what angle it is viewed from.  The Wild Animal Park is also included with the annual pass.  There is free parking at the zoo and pay parking at the Wild Animal Park.

Mexican Riviera Celebrity Cruise Stop in Cabo San Lucas

We had a great cruise on the Celebrity Mercury.  We went all the way down to Accapulco.  We also stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Manzanillo, and Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa.  The thing we really like about the Celebrity cruise line is their supperior service and food.  We've cruised with other cruise lines and there was a huge contrast in the level of service they provide.
